Questions and Answers:
Why do monkeys throw their dung?
It's evolution in action:
Evolution dictates that any trait that makes a species more likely to survive and propegate will eventually be incorporated into that species genetic makeup. Sometimes this law will, at least in the short term, allow the trait to perpetuate into the social structure of the species.
In the case of monkeys, the act of flinging dung makes them more entertaining to us humans. Really, how funny is it to go to the zoo and see your brother hit in the face with a steaming pile of monkey crap?
Since monkeys are therefore more entertaining to us, we are less likely to wipe them out of existence, as we did to the Native Americans, who evidently were not funny enough to survive.
