What is "VO2 max" and how does it measure cardiovascular fitness?

VO2 max is the maximum amount of oxygen intake for you. A higher number means you have greater lung capacity and air intake and thus process more oxygen. Therefore, a higher number means you're more fit.

Same as NO2. I use it to work out everyday. Improves my running time.
